Countable and Uncountable Nouns
The names of person or things that can be counted are called countable nouns.
For example, pen, paper, table, chairs, etc. are all countable nouns because they can be physically counted.
The names of person or things that cannot be counted are called uncountable nouns.
Most of the abstract nouns are uncountable nouns. 
For example, things like sugar, salt, air, water, milk, hair, rice, pulses, etc. are all uncountable noun because they can never be counted.
